Every christian has been empowered to cast out demons but there are specific members of the body of christ that God Almighty has given the healing gift of deliverance to loose those oppressed by the devil. In Luke 10:19 Jesus said to the 72 (NU) who returned jubilant from the evangelism when demons were subjected to them that "I give unto you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all powers of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
Serpents and scorpions symbolize demons. This command he gave to these disciples points out the fact that believers have a measure of authority to cast out demons even unto this day.
We at TORD believe that everything hears the word of Jesus. Therefore the kingdom of darkness and cohorts must flee if we preach the authentic gospel. The bible says in I Corinthians 4:20 "the kingdom of God is not in the words but in power." It takes only the power of the anointing in the word and the man anointed specially for deliverance to set you free through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus has set us free but Satan and demons want to keep people bound. The bible says "he has refused to open the gates of his prisoners." It requires practical and actual enforcement of the order to let us go.
